After long and drenching summer season winter promising chilly weather feels like a pure bliss. However, it is with arrant dismay that I proclaim this season to be my least favorite one. The problem with this season is all major functions including marriages are lined up in this season. The joy of meeting far off relatives and wearing gaudy clothes seems to shrink with impending doom that hover above you as the whiffs of delicious aromas start to fill the hall harbinger life saving race that ensues among people as soon as dishes are filled with delectable.

I vividly remember attending such function when as soon as dinner was served

The emotions of people were ineffable, they rushed towards the tables to grab anything that would come to their hand .I sat back envisioned their movements in slow motion it reminded me of the glass of water that produced ripples as the dinosaurs of Jurassic park were unleashed. I had to shake my head and go get myself some food as I was pretty hungry myself. As soon as I got plate at start of table I was heralded all the way to mid of table. Before I was taken on another voyage I grabbed a spoon .Just then a female with colossal frame pushed her plate in between me n female on my right side, reluctantly I moved to give her some space. As soon as I looked away I realized that same women started to poke me with her elbow. I complied once again as she entered her peony little chills to our table. The kid in return took leisure of dipping my pure silk green dupatta into congealing curry. I gave a blood chilling look however; he stared insolently. Our exchanged of split second apparently had exhausted everyone patience for I found two of us pushed outside the line.

After that function I took heed to the lesson being taught and in next functions my attitude was incorrigible and had no desire or intention to act  upon "if you can't beat them, join them"

After repeated such experiences I deemed it unwise to attend such functions.

I had to abjure my firm resolve as my mother was quite firm about taking me to this certain function of a lady with exclusive group. The dinner consisted of appetizer, soup and six extravagant dishes conducted in very decent fashion. By the end of dinner I was in good spirits. Hostess invited me to dessert as I reached the hall all the ladies were huddled around one table, gone were the etiquettes exhibited earlier .I was appalled to see an aged person rudely overtake little child in his haste to reach table. I came back to my seat and a woman besides me told that freezer stopped working half hour ago so people were in a rush to grab the left over.

I think some habits will take time to get acquiescent
