The gas is passed by every individual in this world even animal. All men and women, and there is no difference in the frequency in these two genders. On average a healthy young man passes the gas up to 14 times in a day. Older people pass less than younger.
The gas that is emitted through anus is due the action of harmless bacteria present in the colon or large intestine on the food that has remained undigested. This means that greater the un-digested food is eaten, the greater would be the gas produced. Let us discuss about the composition of this gas that is emitted through anus so that we could understand why it is too fouling smelly?
The main constituent of the flatulent gas are Carbon dioxide, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, methane and last but not least is Hydrogen sulphide gas. This is gas which is most pungent and this would result in the foul smelling of the environment.
