Use Of Contraceptive Pills And Relevant Health Issues

Hi doctor,

I got married in the month of April 2011. On the wedding day my wife told me that she is already on dronis 20 after the consultation with their gync. doctor. She is 20 years old now. I am working in the middle-east and my leave cycle is for 15 days in every four months. Her doctor told her to be on pills (dronis 20) when I am there on vacation. We don't want any pregnancy for at least 2 years from now. Keeping this scenario, please advice us is there any health issues or pregnancy issues for us in the future.

firstly,belated congrats on wedding.

2ndly,its a bad idea to be put on OCP's(oral contraceptive pills)even before and then immediate after marriage.

i didnt understand at all the reason for the doc to tell her to continue medicine even when you are abroad.

she can consider taking the OCP's before your arrival that matches with her periods date.although they take time to act on body so this might not be succeful.

since your stay duration is so less,why dont you practice the barrier method like condoms,or withdrawal method which seems more healthy.

bcz long term side effects are that pts are going to have tough time conceving once they get off the OCP's.

then you will be coming her to ask for tips and reasons of delays in pregnancy.
