Vitiligo has shown to run in familiesit occurs due to unknown reasons medically vitiligo is an autoimmune disease meaning by ur body cells start to destroy ur own body cells that give brown colour to skin.... brown colour of skin is due to the cells (melanocytes) that produce pigment a brown coloured(melanin)...now what happens is due to uncertain reason body cells start to destroy these brown colour producing cells... n white patches appear... this disease has the tendency to A) remain stable... B)to progress ahead to all body or C) even to Disappear on its own.... patients are given folate , vitamin Bcomplex and even vit C capsules.. Even some vitamins ointment alopathic science has not much made 100 percent progress to cure it by three types of therapy are there.... application of steroid on these patches also other topical application to cause depigmentation or make whole body white if large area is involved already ... so that body is not in two shades... else application of special rays (UV-B) to these patches and apply coal tar..... if small area of skin is involved even grafting is an option. you Need to go to a skin specialist for evaluation ..
