Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay
Leela Bhansali are in a race. The two directors are working on films revolving
around Lahore’s red light area — Heera Mandi.
Pooja’s film titled Kajraa Re while Bhansali’s
yet untitled project is rumoured to have Rani Mukerji essaying the role of a
prostitute. Sources reveal that Pooja has started working at a break-neck speed
to release her film before Bhansali’s.
Kajraa Re is said to be
a romantic thriller about a boy who falls for a girl in Morocco. He soon
realises that her past lies in the murky lanes of Lahore’s
Heera Mandi. The film is to be shot at various locations around the
world.
Pooja has a witty reply, “I am not aware of what he is
making. But I do know that by the time he thinks of starting his film, mine will
release.”
Sources close to Bhansali reveal that he will only look
at Heera Mandi when he’s back from Paris in March.
“Sanjay is travelling to Paris to direct an opera. Heera
Mandi is one of the many projects he’s considering.”
