Leucorrhea Leucorrhea is nothing but the vaginal discharge in women. A woman faces this major universal problem at least once in her life. Most of these secretions are regarding the lifestyle and physiological warranting no medical interventions. However, leucorrhea with blood, profuse or foul smell or with changes in its color may seek immediate medical assistance.
Generally, leucorrhea secretions are slimy little bit sticky. You can compare it roughly (but not exactly) with kind of nasal secretions. Normally the quantities of vaginal secretions differ throughout the menstrual cycle, reaching its peak at ovulation and also increasing when a woman is emotionally stressful.
Recent researches have shown that secretions from the uterus and upper part of the vagina may also go down and they are again reabsorbed in the lower part of the vagina. This flow is continuous and it is a normal physiological process in every normal woman. The whitish discharge is generally caused if the tract is infected or any tissues or cells are infected. The condition may continue for couple of weeks or months in some bad cases.
