Recovery After ByPass Your
father possesses mainly two problems. First is the heart disease and for that
he will be undergone Bypass Surgery. The second problem is Diabetes Mellitus.
After Bypass surgey, a patient is kept in Cardiac ICU for atleast one day. If
things would go fair enough, then he is shifted to Step down unit and then in
to ward. He could be discharged with take home medications including the
medications for his Diabetes contol with in five days of operations.
With
gradual progression, he is advised to come on his routine, like to join the
office, to walk, and to do other activities as he was doing prior to surgery.
All of theses things depends upon the reconvery and health status of patient.
Usually a person would be able to go
back to his normal daily functions of life with in 15-20 days. Some times the
duration could be prolonged, however.
As far
as the diabetes is controlled, then it would not create any serious issue for
the patient. The important thing is that he must keep continue to take his
medications regularly, avoid heavy meals, use canola oil for cooking, avoid
cigarettes and other injurious agents, walk for atleast 15-20 minutes three
times a week etc.
