My query is related to my menstrual cycle. I am 19 years old, slightly anaemic and also thalassemic minor. I did not have my periods last month even though i did feel pain in my lower abdomen round about my date and also felt the change in my body odour, no proper bleeding occurred. however, i did see a spot of blood on my lowers but nothing significant. in addition to this, i also have small breasts.

This months' date has also gone by without bleeding and i fear an early menopause.

previously i used to have 7days bleeding but i continued to get discharges for almost 2 weeks including the 7days. Also, the cycle length used to vary from 30 to 45 days. i am really worried. please help!

i also want to know if emergency contraceptives can cause any of this. waiting desperately for a response.

I had many options to tell you when at first i started to read your question but Now more impt one is Have you taken emergency pill? IF yes then why? If you had relations (intimate/sex) with anyone if yes then it could be that you are pregnant (simple urine kit from pharmacy will check it via strip test) ... 2) yes emergency pill is a very high dose hormones equal to one a women take whole month in one tablet or two so can have effect on menses and you must go to a gynae doctor ...(there are medicine to start/induce menses if stopped but will be given by gynae doc and after check up).... Otherwise premature menupause is not like this many symptoms are accompanied! ... Breast though are to increase in size at puberty but size variation occur upto 22yearz.... And anemia though effect menses but not in a way you are telling and that has to be significant anemia and thal minor is not uncommon just the people are ignorant but u need a gynae doc

I have seen this report. If this is thalassemia minor, then nothing to worry about.

Hemoglobin is however - DANGEROUSLY LOW

SHE NEEDS IMMEDIATE BLOOD TRANSFUSION IF SHE HAS SHORTNESS OF BREATH, WEAKNESS, FAINTING AND PALENESS OF THE BODY.

The other option is the IRON INJECTIONS. Consult HEMATOLOGIST in this regard.

THIS IS NECESSARY TO WORK OUT BLEEDING DISORDERS. Full and complete checkup ONCE AGAIN is required by GOOD HEMATOLOGIST.
