Spotting During Pregnancy:
Walaikum Salam, How are you? And how is your UC these days? I hope you don't have any UC flare ups, and that it would be under good control. While it is true that a lot of women have atleast some bleeding during some stage of their pregnancy, but bleeding during pregnancy should alwauys be properly evaluated and investigated. I am glad that you did go to the doctor and your doctor said that everything if fine. But generally speaking, bleeding during 4th month of pregnancy could be related to infections/or certain abnormalities of the cervix ( lower portion of the uterus). Another possible cause is placental abnormalities, which can also cause bleeding at this stage. And as always, any amount of bleeding during pregnancy raises concerns about the possibility of miscarriage, but the good thing is that your doctor said that the baby is fine, alhamdolillah. I certainly agree with the recommendation for bed rest, but if the bleeding continues, then you certainly need to go back to the doctor and get checked out again, get another ultrasound done, and also undergo blood tests to check for your hemoglobin levels and platelets. All the best.
