Muslim Scientists Contribution Through Out World

Here are some Muslim scientists who contributed through out world and known as shining stars and also I will ask some questions:

Yaqub Kindi (800-873 AD)

He was a great scientist which was born in Basra. Basra is a place in Iraq. He produced extensive research monographs on meteorology, specific gravity and on tides. He was famous in his most important work in optics especially on reflection of light. He discovered a method to express the notes of music in terms of frequencies and used it to fix the order of various notes. The work of his which was on optics was translated in Latin. Yaqub Kindi also did valuable work in medicine.

Ibnal Haitham (965-1039 AD)

Ibnal Haitham was also born in Basra which is in Iraq. He was a great scholar of physics, math's, engineering and medicine. He wrote many books in his whole life and the books were on the upper fields. His most precious book was Kitab-ul-Manazir. This book deals with optics. Kitab-ul-Manazir was the first comprehensive book on the subject of optics. Ibnal Haitham described the nature of light and its form of energy and also gave a good definition to the ray of light. He constructed a pinhole camera and managed to obtain the image of a solar eclipse. He was the first man who gave two laws about reflection. His most wonderful chapter was on human eye. The information provided by this book is still on the basis of eye vision.

Al-Beruni

Al-Beruni is a famous afghan scholar. He was born in a small town of berun in Afghanistan. He wrote about 150 books on mathematics, physics, cosmology, geography, history culture and civilization and many more. Al-Beruni discussed that shape of the earth and the movement of other planets around sun. His famous book is Qanoon Al-Masudi. He explained in that book that how densities of metals can be determined. He also determined the circumference of the earth. He was interested in many fields.

Pro Dr. Abdussalam (1926-1996)

He was born in Jhang in 1926. He studied in Government College Lahore. He was awarded scholarship for advance studies U.K. After obtaining his Ph.D. he came to Pakistan but later on proceeded back to U.K to continue his research work. He was awarded Nobel Prize in physics in 1979 for his work on Grand Unification Theory. He is buried in his home town Jhang Pakistan.

Muslim Period Discoveries

Muslim Scientists Discoveries During Muslim Period

The Muslims (600-1600 AD) made a rich contribution to the knowledge in Science. They spread like shining stars on the horizon of the world of science.

They rendered effective and invaluable services in the field of science. The period of the Muslim scientists from 600-1600 AD in the history of science. This period created many talented and genius scientists who observed the matter and conducted experiments to test the truth of their observations. There were two major aims of those Muslims scientists:

  • To change matter (any thing which occupies space and have weight) into gold.
  • To find out a method to prolong human life.

Through their efforts and for the achievements of the same goals remained failed but they did succeed in introducing of laboratory methods which are still used in many experiments in modern period.

The Muslim scientists discovered arsenic, antinomy and bismuth (these are elements). They made large number of chemical compounds and instruments for measurements and observations. They made and used the instruments for laboratory work such as furnace, beakers, funnels, crucible, and scale for weighing and reports etc.

During this period they did many experiments which were successfully conducted and many new chemical processes were discovered. Distillation, sublimation, filtration, fermentation and calcinations. In this time they also made medicine which is still using in term of sickness.
